I have always had a voyeuristic curiosity about nature, the microscopic and all that hides behind it. I create my work over many weeks with diluted white acrylic, using gravity, heat and my own blast of air. The technique can take me into a meditative space… It combines a blend of constraint and freedom and I delight in seeing the forms take shape with an indefinable lightness on the canvas. I am the guide in a slow flow of repetitive gestures and forms leading to compositions that take on a life of their own. Once complete, my paintings provoke questioning and mystery, not certainty. This is the beginning of the dialog with the viewer, who then gives them an entirely new dimension that, I, in turn, discover.
Inspirée par le coté invisible de la nature, je suis à la recherche de nouvelles transparences et profondeurs que j’expérimente avec de la peinture acrylique fortement diluée. Mon processus de travail est long, extrêmement lent. Cette lenteur associée avec la répétition de formes et de mouvement peut me plonger dans un état de méditation. J’aime observer mon œuvre grandir, encore liée à mes gestes, mais déjà douée de vie propre, et en être étonnée, même m’en émerveiller.
Mes œuvres ne représentent pas une réalité identifiable et gardent ainsi leur part de mystère, leur champ du possible, que chacun peut imaginer. Avec sa propre sensibilité, le spectateur apporte ainsi à mes tableaux une nouvelle dimension, parfois surprenante, toujours enrichissante, que j’aime à mon tour découvrir.
